HOUSE PLANT EDITORIAL
& LAYOUT DESIGN
BRIEF: Design a layout for a four-page magazine spread regarding house plants. The client would also like photographs taken that go along with the article. The layout must attract our average customer which is 25-50 years old and has a sense of elegance and simplicity.
SOLUTION: To allow the eye to move over the article properly, I photographed a plant against a grey background and table. This way your eye goes to the plant popping against the background, and then over to jade-leaf pull-quote. From there the reader should be interested in the article and continue reading. To continue the elegance, I used pops of colours with natural greys and brown. I also broke up the text in a way to create simplicity with the larger imagery.
